Crane Operator

Requirements

Some technical and mechanical background along with 3-5 year experience in the position. Normally, this is a position that implies extensive experience aboard gas or oil platforms and rigs in different subordinate positions.

Duties

Operates the heavy cranes on board, which is not an easy task considering the situation, due to the wave and wind action. The loading and unloading operations can be a very delicate task and require good reflexes and calmness. The person in charge of these cranes must check their stability, assure that the loads are not too heavy to be lifted and keep them in good condition ensuring the proper cleaning, painting and maintenance.

Salary

Around 50,000 dollars/euros a year.

Requirements

Some technical and mechanical knowledge and previous experience in similar or subordinate position. Often, this position is an experienced and qualified roustabout.

Assists the crane operator in his different duties.

Requirements

It is a basic position, although requires some mechanical knowledge and previous experience (6 months) in entry-level position as roustabout on land or offshore drilling installation.

Duties

They assist the driller, carrying out the manual operation of the systems and equipment required for the specific process, which involves hard effort. While the drilling operations, a member of the teamwork is present in the shaker room, assisting the shakerman. Roughnecks are also in charge of cleaning, scraping and wirebrusing floor areas, chipping rust, painting and any other general maintenance tasks.

Around 35,000 dollars/euros a year.

Requirements

Entry-level position that requires no previous experience.

Duties
